ASUS has just unveiled the ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G on its official website. For the time being, this card is intended exclusively for the Chinese market. The card will use a more compact NAVI 48 chip, equipped with 3072 flow processors, coupled with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, for a power consumption of 220 W. Overclocked at the factory, it can be boosted to 2880 MHz in OC mode. The photos show that the card is powered by two 8-pin PCI-E connectors. The RX 9070 GRE is positioned between the future RX 9060 XT and the RX 9070… But it’s a long way from the latter. Until now, AMD has launched its GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) GPUs exclusively for the Chinese market. Only the RX 7900 GRE has been an exception to this rule.
RX 9070 GRE Edition: how is it positioned?
The price projections for this card outside China seem to promise a difficult positioning if it leaves Chinese borders. Several other brands have been teasing their versions for a few days now. We’ll have to wait and see how these cards actually perform before we can understand how AMD is going to position these references on the market. In the meantime, here’s a technical summary of the card:
