MSI is said to be preparing two new high-end versions of its AM5 motherboard, the MEG X870E GODLIKE X and GODLIKE MAX. A leak relayed by VideoCardz gives us the opportunity to talk about these boards. Although the official data sheets have not yet been published, there’s no doubt that the technical basis remains that of the current MEG X870E GODLIKE: E-ATX format, AM5 socket (Ryzen 7000/8000/9000), DDR5 up to 256 GB with high OC profiles, two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, and muscular storage with M.2 Gen5 + XPANDER-Z SLIDER Gen5 M.2 card to add two Gen5 SSDs, handy for heavy-duty workflows.

MSI has just submitted a reference list to the Eurasian Economic Commission, featuring the MSI X870E GODLIKE X and MAX

GODLIKE X and MAX: even more extreme versions?

There’s also Wi-Fi 7, 10G LAN + 5G LAN, USB4/Thunderbolt 4 40 Gb/s and Dynamic Dashboard III (3.99″ LCD screen) for monitoring, as well as “EZ” functions to facilitate assembly (EZ PCIe Release, EZ Link). On the price front, we can see who’s going to sting with in-store prices. Although prices vary widely according to vendor and region, a figure of €1,500 seems likely in Europe. This platform is obviously aimed at enthusiast users looking for an exclusive configuration.MSI X870E GodlikeThe MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE remains a benchmark, and future GODLIKE X/MAX models could bring even greater maturity and/or functionality. Of course, if your usage is pure gaming, with no need to get your hands under the hood on a regular basis, a more reasonable X870/X870E card will be a sensible choice without discussion. In conclusion, for those who don’t look at the expense (too much) and always want to have top-of-the-range products: these new Godlike will at least be worth a look. If you’re on a tighter budget and don’t want to be constantly fiddling, then opt for a more affordable card from the MSI range. We’ll soon be telling you all about another MSI, the B850 Tomahawk Max… Don’t miss our review.
