TEAMGROUP’s Cool New SSD

The new SSDs from TEAMGROUP come in two flavours, the more traditional Graphene model which you will use one of your motherboard’s M.2 heatspreaders and the T-FORCE GE PRO AirFlow I which The FPS Review received for testing.  The Airflow 1 version has a bottom sled, then a thermal pad, then the SSD, then another thermal pad, then the DARK AirFlow I on top, attached with screws.  It stands a total of 2.5″ tall so you will need to make sure to install the T-FORCE GE PRO AirFlow I in an M.2 slot with plenty of space.  The fan direction can be switched by unscrewing it, flipping it and screwing it back in, which does ensure you aren’t blowing hot air at a component that you’d rather not.

The SSD uses Innogrit’s IG5666 controller, 232-layer TLC 3D NAND flash, and a DRAM cache which are well implemented as CDM saw just over 14,000MB/s sequential read and 13,000MB/s sequential writes.  The cooler is best run under 50% fan speed as it gets a bit loud at higher rotational speeds however that raises the ASIC temperature from 70C to 77C which is still more than acceptable.  Follow the link above to learn all about the T-FORCE GE PRO AirFlow I.
